Changes to my Study Programme

Hello everybody! Today I will talk about: Changes to my Study Programme.

The curriculum of my career are really varied, in first year I have basic subjects like physics (I hate that), chemistry, botany, fauna, soil science, climatology, geology, calculus, algebra, English I & II, and specific subject of forestry like personal development, role of forestry engineer, introduction to research and development, but this contents are relaxing compared to the second year. In the third semester, I have subject more specific of the career like growth and development of trees, structure and functioning of ecosystems, forest products and services, mathematics II, statistics, English III. In the fourth semester I have subjects like genetic basis of biodiversity, ecosystem biometry, processes and interaction in plant formation, oratory & communication, mathematics III and English IV… This semester has been the most difficult time of my life because these subjects are extremely dense and I waste a lot of my time studying this but is not enough!

The career should last for 5 years (10 semesters) but usually lasts longer than predicted by the difficulty of the subjects.

In my faculty there are few resources so the classrooms aren’t enough to the people that are studying here, so we have classes at the neighboring faculty of Agronomy, the space is a trouble for us, like when we have to use computers tools for specific knowledge because in our pavilion the number of computers is insufficient and we have to divide unofficially… It sucks because a lot of times we can’t learn everything we should.

Summer Holidays

Hello everybody! Today I will talk about: the summer holidays (Yeeey!!!)

This summer I want to visit the south of Chile, I really have a lot of plans and really very few time to travel and enjoy the free time, the first plan is go to do some kind of voluntary work in the south of Chile be means of a web page called “worldpackers.com” in this place we can choose any place of the world to travel and “work” for free while I can help to the guests to do the things of the hostel like help in the kitchen, with the garden, with the administration or some like this but… What’s the benefit then?..  The plan is that you can go to any place of the world without pay for the place to stay, while you can meet people of other countries, so this is the plan A.

The plan B is go to the south of Chile, specifically to Caburgua in the Araucanía, in this place one of my paternal relatives has a summer house and all the family go to this place to spend a good time together, and do some extreme sports in Pucón, eat a roast in the garden, enjoy a wood fire on the night and see the stars and a lot of relaxing things like this.

The plan C is go to travel the south with my mother and little sister because they love this too, so any plan that comes true will be a good one because in all of this I will go away of home.

My Favorite TV show

Hello everybody! Today I will talk about my favorite TV program… This is “How I meet your mother”.

This series is about a man that is looking for “the one”, the woman of his life so in the course of the chapters Ted Mosby has many dates with different women while he gets to know himself, the point is that “the one” never comes to his life until he meets the girl of the yellow umbrella. One of the interesting things of this series is that he tells the story to his children so the spectator try to guess if this woman who is dating (in every chapter) with he is the mother of his children.

The main character (Ted Mosby) live with his best friend Marshall that is engaged whit the woman of his life Lily. This group of friends spends a lot of time together in the apartment where all happen, one of the important characters is Robin Scherbatsky. She is a friend of the group & Ted is in love of she since he meet, but she is a woman with personality that don’t want to get married nor be pregnant so she don’t want to stay with Ted.

I love this series because it represents with joke so many different situations of the normal life of everyone. 

Someone I'd like to meet

Hello everybody! Today I will talk about one person that I want to meet, this is a difficult topic to me…

The really is that I don’t idolize anyone, so I don’t have the wish to meet anyone person in this life, no matter, I want to meet to Claudio Iturra.

I think that this man is really interesting because is a traveler very nice & charismatic; He is a Chilean man that work recording his travels around the world with his production company (that man work with one of my cousins, so I feel his adventures of a closer way).

I admire of Claudio the lots of places that where he has go & the lot of histories that he has to tell like when he was in Rome, Turkey, Greece, Japan, Philippines, Thailand or the Amazon between so many other places.

I think that this experiences, he has been transformed in a wise person because stay far away of home change the people, most if he has learn of so many different cultures (a lot of this millenaries) where the people live of ways that we can’t imagine, so I think that Claudio has rescued a part of every history, every people that he know, every place that he visit, every food that he taste, every problem presented and overcome has been turned to Claudio in a really interesting person to meet.

Postgradute Studies

Hi everybody! Today I will talk about one of my dreams, the dream of be a specialist in some area of this career… Forestry engineer.

When I will finish this career, I want to learn more of animals and insects because I think that for a best comprention of the ecosistem and the nature, we need to know how all the components of this can be necesary to keep the balance, so I think that we need to keep the fundamental parts of the chain and this in a big part has relationship with insects because this make possible a lot of process of pollination of flowers.

Besides, the insects has a big instinct that makes possible the reproduction, feeding, protection and communication, and this are things that the normal people don’t know, so if we have better knowledge, we can help that the balance is sustained in the time, of this way we can solve problems caused by exotic plants like the lack of decomposition in Pine plantations among other problems caused by human intervention in the nature.

I don’t really know where I can study something related with this, but if the possibility is presented I will take this in the same university or in other out of Chile because I really want to study in another country.

My future job

All my life I was changing of plans and dreams because I don’t really feel that I have vocation of just one career or profession, but to this moment engineering forestry was a very good option to me.

In the last days, I was thinking in do something connected with ecotourism or tourism—adventure because I feel that I can’t stay a lot of time in just one area living in the routine that Santiago makes to us, so I want to work in the nature having a quiet life and trying to connect the forest knowledge with a own investment like an amusement park on the south of Chile, I want to have the freedom to live an independent life where the people can go and do something different to the everyday, out of the city.

I think that be a dreamer is a good thing because if we believe in our dreams and make something to make this true, we can do the thing that we want, just we have to work in this minding of this and not just worrying, so let’s make our dreams comes true!

Anyway, is really possible that in the future I change mi dream and all of this result just like other idea more, in this case I will still being an engineering forestry because I love that.

Election Day

Hi everybody! Today I will take about a polemic subject… Politics.

In the last election I don’t voted because I feel that no one of the candidates work for the people more than his own interests, I don’t believe in any political party for this reason… Always we can feel how the powerful people do just what they want without looking after the interest of those who said to represent.

In my opinion, the electoral campaigns are full of lies to make people think that they are the solution to problems like the crime that just we can fix with awareness and a good share of empathy.

So, to be a good public position man or woman is necesary that in the past, this person have lived the raw reality that needs to be repaired because they can’t ignore that there are people in need, as well as, this person should have good and possible solutions to this needs.

For this reason I invite to the future candidates to president of Chile to take part of the people of this large and tight country to take conscience that Santiago isn’t Chile and their mission is represent and must work for the people & not only for the business owner.
